Is it possible to set up a exchange hosting plan so that it does the billing based on a number of mailboxes? So far it looks like it's only possible to use a fixed price for a customer regardless the number of mailboxes.

At the moment that is not possible but in the future versions we will make available MailBox resource for Exchange service plans which the customer will be able to buy from his control panel. You will be able to set a price for Mailbox resource and customer will be charged for each Mailbox resource he buys.

I would love to know a timeframe for this as all of our plans are based on single mailboxes and are not aggregated

We have escalated priority for this feature and I am glad to tell that single mailbox selling feature is going to be supported in less than 2 weeks. Here is how it will work.

1. Customer buy hosted exchange service from you.
2. Customer logins to his control center and create mailboxes.
3. If mailbox quota is exhausted the customer is prompted with appropriate message and a link to buy additional mailbox.
4. Customer buys additional mailbox conveniently without having to log-off or go outside of his control center.
5. After purchase customer is taken back to add mailbox screen where he proceeds to create his mailbox.

I believe we have made the process work flow simple and efficient. Please enlighten us with your feedback.

I am pleased to announce availability of this most requested feature.

To create and sell exchange addons
Let's create an Exchange Mailbox addon with 3 price variations on volume discount principle:

(1) Exchange Mailboxes - $8.99/month
(3) Exchange Mailboxes - $22/month
(5) Exchange Mailboxes - $40/month

Go to Service Plans > Exchange Hosting Products > Edit

1. Click "Create Addon" button.
2. Select "System Managed" Addon.
3. Select "Mailboxes per Organization" from Select resource drop-down.
4. Type "Exchange Mailboxes" in addon display label field.
5. Select "Radio list" option from Addon display type drop-down.
6. Select "3" from How many options do you need drop-down and click Next.
7. In the Display name field enter "Exchange Mailboxes (3)" and in Internal value field enter "3". The value you enter in Internal value field should be numeric and this is used by the provisioning engine to determine additional mailbox units for the subscription. A value "3" means 3 additional mailbox unit. Click Next and then choose the billing cycle and set other criterias.

Now you have create Exchange mailbox addon and associated with a service plan. When this service plan is sold the client can shop for additional mailboxes from the Easy Shop menu in Customer Control Center.

I hope you like this 1st version of addon management and selling interfaces. Please give back your valuable suggestion to help us improve the software for you.

This feature will be available with next update. If you are licensed customer and cannot wait then please contact customer support for quick hotfix.

Hello Aeons - The add-on handling has been greatly changed since I wrote last time. To add/manage add-on you should navigate to Home » Service Plans » Exchange Hosting Products and click the Add-on Management tab.

thanks for your reply. ive tried setting up an addon that allows an additonal mailbox to the current exchange plan but cant seem to make it work. Would you possibly have any documentation to help me on this or even just a quick few points on this post?

e.g. I have a web access plan which allows 1 Org and 1 mailbox. I want to create an addon that allows 2 mailboxes for the customer under the same 1 Org.

many thanks

Please follow these steps:

1. Navigate to Home » Service Plans » Exchange Hosting Products and click the Add-on Management tab.
2. Click Add new Add-on button and follow the screens to create your add-on. For your case, you need to enter "2" for "Mailboxes per organization" resource while setting others to "0".
3. Now sell this new add-on. To sell, navigate to Home » Clients Manager » Offline Order.

Once you have sold the add-on, go to Service Director > Service Queue and make sure that add-on was provisioned. Now, your customer may add 2 additional mailboxes to same hosted organization.

I hope this helps! any suggestions are welcome.
