We are a small company and <500 customers but want to offer Exchange Hosting.
Now that your solution uses HMC which has its own costs.I intend to minimize the expense. Is there a way to do so by skipping some of the servers stated in HMC4 documentation?

Yes you can minimize expense on HMC by skipping the backup servers. The servers named as XYZ02 (eg: ExCASUM02,EXMBX02,DNS02) and the Edge transport server which acts as a gate guard plus router may be skipped. If you skip them you loose automatic backup. You can add these servers later as your customers increase. By doing this you save on servers and HMC licensing.
